What is Bike the Bend?

Bike the Bend is a celebration of family, friends and community.

Bike the Bend started in 2010 as the vision of Louise Addicott who enjoyed bicycling side by side with her family to explore and share their community togeter.

Bike the Bend brings family and friends together for an urban bicycle ride along more than 30 miles of vehicle-restricted streets and trails. Participants of all ages and skill levels can ride side by side while leisurely exploring South Bend, Mishawaka and St. Joseph Count, Indiana parks, historic and urban neighborhoods, and local university campuses.

With the generous support of The Louise Addicott and Georgina Joshi Foundation and the hard work of more than 250 volunteers, Bike the Bend has attracted riders from 17 Indiana counties, 7 states, and 2 countries overseas. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community through healthy, family-friendly activities.

Bike the Bend in the Community

- Bike the Bend is an underwriter for wayfinding signs along South Bend’s Bikeway
- Bike the Bend Cyclers Clubs will be after-school fun riding clubs for kids
- Bike the Bend Bookmarks given to 8,000 children in Swoop’s Silver Hawks Reading program

You Can Still Register!: Registration is still open! Download forms and bring to Packet Pick-up on Saturday, May 19th at Coveleski Stadium from 9 AM to 4 PM. Forms will also be available at Packet Pick-up. Sunday registration available at all SAG stops along the route.

Theme Song Competition: The Bike the Bend Theme Song will make its debut at the After Ride Festival at St. Patrick’s County Park. All of the entries were very creative. Join us to hear the winner!
